Scratch Kitchen is a vibrant dream brought to life by the incredible duo of Bernie Rousseau and her daughter Angie, who shared an unyielding passion for cooking and homemade meals. They envisioned a restaurant that would revolutionize the local dining experience! Though Angie’s untimely passing on February 1st, 2022, the very day Bernie received the keys to their new location, was a heartbreaking moment, Bernie has bravely carried on their shared vision.
Today, Scratch Kitchen delights guests with mouthwatering, homemade dishes crafted with love, honoring Angie’s memory every step of the way! Creating a vibrant family-owned restaurant in Olney, MD! In honor of her daughter, Bernie transformed her heartache into a powerful mission, creating a lasting legacy for her daughter and two younger children. With unwavering dedication, she built a restaurant that not only creates jobs but also serves up fresh, farm to table comfort food that the entire community can celebrate!

At Scratch Kitchen, our women-led Latin bistro blends traditional European techniques, New World creativity, and our New England roots, where breakfast and family meals are a cherished part of the culture. Guided by faith, family values, and generational recipes, we honor time-tested methods that celebrate comfort, flavor, and connection.
Everything is made from scratch using the freshest seasonal ingredients — from our fluffy buttermilk pancakes, hearty breakfast burritos, and classic Reuben sandwich, to our signature Peruvian Fried Rice and our secret recipe Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins. Each dish is crafted with care, flavor, and a touch of homemade warmth.

We are open from Monday thru Sunday, from 7 am to 3 pm!
